天領米とは、徳川家康は、全国の都市や鉱山を直轄地（天領）とし、「石見銀山を中心とする約 5 万石」もその対象で、現在の島根県大田市です。その地域でも特に気温の寒暖差が大きい大山隠岐国立公園「三瓶山」地域を中心したお米を｢天領米｣とし提供しています。
